The theme for the next Photo Challenge is
Sheherazade feared that the Sultan would have her brought to death, like the women who were his wife before her. To change his mind, she told him the most wonderful stories for 1001 Nights to come.
Think of a scene that could happen in a story from 1001 Nachten, or between the Sultan and Sheherazade. It may be an existing scene from the book, as long as you tell your story in 1 image.
Get creative: think of how Aladdin could also look, think of your own settings and get inspired by the story.
Choose a style or theme and create a fantastic photo. Think of typical materials for every scene and go for it!
Photostories will be excluded from participation, because of their different
nature to pictures. The photograph may not include text, unless it is part of
the decor.
What may be submitted and what not?
The dolls that will be allowed are: BJD, Blythe, Pullip, Obitsu, Azone.
As the theme is Arabic, your entry needs to depict an Arabian image of
a scene from the book. It may be either merry or dark, as long as it depicts
fantastic characters in an Arabian environment.
* 1 entry per participant.
* Participation is only possible if you
register. You can register until 13-05-2012. If you decide to cancel, please
let us know before 20-05-2012.
* Accompany your entry with a title. This doesn't have to be known when you
enter but does need to be communicated to the organization before 20-05-2012, along with the description of your entry and the materials you
used. Incomplete entries will not be accepted after 20-05-2012.
* Within 4 days after your registration you will receive a confirmation. If
you don't receive it, please contact the organization.
* After receipt of confirmation, send in the UNENHANCED original and the
ENHANCED entry digitally before 13-05-2012 for approval. The organisation
reserves the right to deny participation in the contest if the entry does
not depict the theme or is in conflict with the rules.
*If you need to change your entry, you may do so until 20-05-2012.
After this date your entry is final, changes will not be accepted.
* Set dimensions: 30 x 40 cm . You may not send in any other size. The picture
may not have a border.
* The entry must be printed on photo paper and framed in a borderless frame,
without with a glass window, dimensions 30 x 40
cm.
* The entry may not be digitally enhanced, but a stock background may be
photoshopped in. If you use this technique, mention the source of the
background (where is it from and what kind of background did you use).
Ofcourse you need to ask permission for using these types of pictures for
your use.
* The entries MAY be digitally enhanced when it comes to lighting, color
balance, sepia, sharpening, fading en such picture enhancements.
* Entries may not be shown in public before the competition.
* No communication may be made public about your entry before or during
Dolliverse, to prevent people from voting prejudiced.
* Please explain what your specialty is with your entry and what you have
made yourself, so the entry can be judged fairly.
* Entries are anonymous to ensure the most neutral voting possible.
Don't mention your name or the name of anyone who helped you with your entry
anywhere.
* Bring your own display materials such as a stand or furniture ( these will
not be available during the Con ).
* Place your entry on the competition table before 11.00 so people will have
enough time to vote. If you are late with placing your entry, particpation
will not be possible anymore.
* Voting will be done by all participants of the Con, 3 preferred votes can
be made per person per competition. The order of 1 to 3 also determines the
points awarded to the entries. The first preferred vote is worth more points
than the third.
* Final judgement will be made by the jury.
IF ONE OR ANY OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED RULES ARE NOT MET, YOUR PARTICIPATION WILL BE DENIED.
